Corin Mellor's black handle stainless steel kitchen knives, specially developed for the David Mellor shops, have proved enormously popular since they were first introduced in 2007. The set contains:

• Carving knife 22.5cm

• Carving fork 30cm. Two prongs

• Sharpening steel 37cm. Elliptical shape with guard

The sets come in specially designed birchwood boxes with sliding lid. These make perfect gift sets and the handmade boxes can provide permanent safe storage. Or you can get a beautiful on-bench storage solution with the plywood knife block.

The high carbon stainless steel blade is hot drop forged and then ice hardened to minus 80°c. This innovative process stabilizes the metallurgical structure of the steel, creating an extremely hard and durable blade. The knife is taper ground with the forging running down the full length of the acetal resin handle. The handle incorporates an internal back weight, giving an excellent balance and grip.

The fork and sharpening steel share the same beautifully strong handles and martensitic steel.
